Taylor Lautner has had quite an impressive career for a 19-year-old. Since “Twilight” came out in 2008, he’s worked with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars and hottest directors and is primed to become the film industry’s next big action star when “Abduction” hits theaters in September.

MTV News caught up with the “Breaking Dawn” actor at San Diego Comic-Con, and he talked about getting the opportunity to work with and becoming more comfortable around so much A-list talent.

“All the directors in the ‘Twilight’ franchise have been amazing, [and] ending with Bill Condon, who’s just a dream,” Lautner said, “and then John Singleton [on 'Abduction']. And then all the actors and actresses I’ve been surrounded by, really, I couldn’t have done it without them, but they have definitely helped me throughout the past few years.”

With “Abduction” and “Breaking Dawn – Part 1″ both wrapped and set for release this fall, Lautner will be busy with press for those films but he also has some free time on his hands. And while the actor doesn’t have any projects lined up right now, he told us he’s looking at some possibilities.

“We’re reading a lot [of scripts] right now and we will probably make that decision while I’m promoting,” he explained. “I’m gearing up because in two weeks, I’m off to the races. I start off in Australia and then I’m around the entire world for ‘Abduction,’ and then once again for ‘Breaking Dawn.’ ”

Lautner added that he would love to do a comedy after the good feedback he got for his Funny or Die sketch “Field of Dreams 2.” He also teased that something could come of his recent meeting with director Gus Van Sant and screenwriter Dustin Lance Black.

But Lautner is really looking forward to spending time with fans, many of whom would visit his “Abduction” set in Pittsburgh. The actor said he was always thankful rather than distracted by their presence.

“There’s moments where it could impede the job, but I’m able to stay focused and be in character when I need to and snap right out of it and go over and talk to the fans and be with them for a while and go right back into it, which is great, because I have a lot of fun with them and I love them coming out and hanging with us,” he said.

“The Big Bang Theory” actress Kaley Cuoco is set to host “Teen Choice 2011″, the popular fan-voted awards show known for its surfboard trophies, Fox has confirmed.

The 13th annual show, airing live on August 7th on Fox, is shaping up to include a who’s who in young Hollywood with superstars Justin Bieber, Taylor Lautner, Taylor Swift and all three Kardashian sisters, Kourtney, Kim and Khloe, all set to attend. Not surprisingly, ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ leads the pack with the most nominations (12, including nods for the holy trinity of ‘Twilight’, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner), while fan favorite “Glee” dominated the television categories with nine nominations total.

Performing at this year’s show is One Republic and none other than the reigning teen queen herself, Selena Gomez & the Scene.

A notable new category this year sure to whip teen voters into a frenzy? “Choice Vampire”, whose nominees include ‘Twilight”s Robert Pattinson and Nikki Reed, “True Blood”‘s Alexander Skarsgard, and “Vampire Diaries”‘s Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley.

This year’s San Diego Comic-Con has been akin to celebrating Christmas in July for “Twilight” fans.

Those lucky enough to catch the highly anticipated “Breaking Dawn” panel Thursday were treated to roughly seven minutes of footage, as well as the appearance of all of their favorite cast members.

MTV News chatted with Taylor Lautner briefly about the Comic-Con experience, as well as how he approached the much-discussed imprinting scene. “It’s tough. I think the best way is to just go off the book,” Lautner said. “People ask me questions all the time about imprinting, and I just want to say, ‘Read the book: It explains it all.’ It’s very complicated,” he added. “I can’t wait for everyone to see it. I think they’ll be pleased.”

Lautner also continued to heap praise on his young co-star Mackenzie Foy, who plays Edward and Bella’s daughter, Renesmee. “The great thing with Mackenzie is she is the nicest girl,” he said. “She’s so outgoing. Everybody on that set loved her. She’s really talented. I can’t wait for everyone to see her; she’s not [featured] until the second one, though,” he pointed out.

In regard to which scene he’s most looking forward to seeing in the finished film, Lautner echoed the sentiments of plenty of fans before him. “I’m excited to see the honeymoon stuff — come on,” he said with a smile. “There’s a lot of good stuff.”

He added, “I’m super proud of the movie. I think everybody’s really happy with it. It’s great to be back at Comic-Con because we weren’t here for ‘Eclipse,’ so it’s been a little while, so I can’t wait to see all the fans again.”

Taylor Lautner is such a Comic-Con draw, he’s not allowed to sign autographs on the floor because organizers fear he’d get mobbed — and of course they’re right. The Twilight star was, however, able to stop by EW’s VIP Comic-Con lounge to talk about Abduction, his Sept. 23 thriller about a boy who finds his own picture in a missing persons ad. Lautner talked with EW’s Dave Karger about how excited he was by Abduction‘s script (“I couldn’t stop turning the pages”) and how stoked he is about the movie’s cast, which also includes Sigourney Weaver and Alfred Molina. Watch Lautner’s interview with EW after the jump — and try not to swoon.

MOVIE hunk Taylor Lautner doesn’t always get along instantly with his costars -– especially ones he has to kiss — but Lily Collins is different.

The Twilight actor had to lock lips with Phil Collins’ actress daughter for new movie Abduction and it wasn’t nearly as bad as his usual screen smooches.

“I think it depends on the person and your vibe together, because sometimes it can totally be awkward,” say Taylor who is now rumored to be dating Lily.

“If you are in the moment and you are living these characters and you just forget everything else then it is fine.”

Lautner recently revealed he’s preparing for another deluge of whacky fan mail ahead of the release of the first part of Twilight: Breaking Dawn later this year.

“We get a lot of stuff from Twilight fans,” he said.

“We get t-shirts and sweatshirts, we get DVDs that they have edited and some of them are amazing. Scrapbooks, everything.”

‘They’re gonna see a whole different Taylor Lautner from what Jacob is in the ‘Twilight’ pictures,’ John Singleton promises.

Taylor Lautner will surprise people in his forthcoming film “Abduction,” according to John Singleton. The renowned director says that Lautner has abandoned his onscreen “Twilight” werewolf alter ego to play a butt-kicking teen in the film, due out in September.

“I put him through his paces and I can say this to the MTV audience: They’re gonna see a whole different Taylor Lautner from what Jacob is in the ‘Twilight’ pictures,” Singleton told MTV News. “My goal as a director was to work with him as an actor, for him to have something that’s a different character.”

So, what did Singleton draw out of his actor? Singleton said he wanted Lautner’s character to be “strong and charismatic. I’ve done some stuff that I’m sure all the young ladies will really love … and it’s beyond taking his shirt off. It’s about him having a different kind of swag than he does as Jacob. In this movie, he’s Nathan Harper and he’s a kickass dude in this movie.”

The director explained that while Lautner plays tough in the flick, he was quite the softie on set, taking the time out to thank his fans for stopping by to watch him in action. “Taylor’s the most famous actor I’ve ever worked with in my whole career,” Singleton said. “When we were shooting this movie, we had 500 to 600 girls and their mothers off the set, trying to get on the set, trying to be around, which was cool.”

Singleton said that the star handled all the attention like the seasoned pro that he is. “It was really funny because, you know, after we worked all these hours, he’d go out and he’d graciously shake peoples’ hands and sign autographs,” he said. “He’s phenomenal. I call him a trooper; he’s a real soldier.”
