Tara McNamara Common Sense Media This gorefest answers one question definitively: You can't intentionally make a film that's "so bad it's good"—it just ends up being bad. Jul 22, 2025 Full Review Jeff Ewing Collider Ultimately, Skillhouse boils down to a bunch of stuff that just happens to characters we don't care about, who make choices that don't make sense for reasons that aren't well grounded. Rated: 2/10 Jul 15, 2025 Full Review Carla Hay Culture Mix The amateurish horror satire Skillhouse is proof of the cinematic train wreck that can happen when social media influencers mistakenly think that talking in front of a camera equals having acting talent. Skillhouse lazily copies ideas from Saw and Scream. Jul 11, 2025 Full Review Avi Offer NYC Movie Guru A witty, campy and wickedly funny horror satire with its tongue placed firmly in its cheek. Jul 11, 2025 Full Review Cole Groth FandomWire It’s hard to watch it and think anything except “this is the worst movie ever made.” Rated: 1/10 Jul 11, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Jay A Skillhouse is, without exaggeration, one of the worst films I’ve ever watched. It starts with a halfway-decent premise: two sibling content creators are kidnapped, and the horrific ordeal — ending in the death of one — is live-streamed on a social media platform. That could have set the stage for a gritty, psychological thriller. Unfortunately, the film takes that premise and drives it straight off a cliff. Instead of building on the initial shock, it becomes increasingly ridiculous. Ten more people are kidnapped — including the surviving sibling — and subjected to live-streamed death games that stretch over several hours or days. The movie’s timeline is unclear, but what’s truly baffling is the idea that this could all happen without the social media site shutting it down. Viewers are somehow allowed to vote on who lives and dies, all while the platform continues to operate as if broadcasting real-time executions is just another Tuesday. To make things worse, the entire operation takes place in a mansion in the middle of Los Angeles — one that, in the film, is owned by none other than celebrity 50 Cent. Despite the livestream gaining over 100 million views, the police remain completely uninterested. No one tracks the location, no authorities intervene, and apparently, the platform is fine with being hacked as long as they can keep streaming the chaos. One viewer even Googles the house’s location and ownership in minutes, yet somehow, law enforcement can’t manage the same. And if the plot wasn’t already a disaster, the film spends nearly an hour showing stock footage of people staring at their phones, watching the livestream — and not even unique clips, but the same reaction shots reused in different scenes. It’s lazy and painfully obvious. The only remotely redeeming aspect is the brutality of the kills, which are at least creatively executed. But that’s nowhere near enough to save this mess. There are movies that are “so bad, they’re good” — Skillhouse isn’t one of them. It’s just bad. Avoid at all costs. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/23/25 Full Review Luis R Skillhouse delivers a gripping, psychological horror experience that explores the dangers of fame and social media. Dark, atmospheric, and unforgettable, it leaves you questioning reality long after. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/15/25 Full Review serah m Skillhouse" is a brutal, hilarious, and wildly entertaining action-thriller that blends savage fight scenes with sharp social media satire. Think Saw meets influencer culture—nonstop fun Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/15/25 Full Review Megi U This trailer hooked me from the first second! The visuals are stunning, the background music adds so much tension, and the storyline seems packed with mystery and suspense. I love how it doesn’t give too much away but still leaves you curious. Can’t wait to see the full release! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/14/25 Full Review Igor K A chaotic clout‑chasers‑meets‑Saw scenario—part satire, part hot mess; some call it a witty B‑movie, others the "worst movie ever made" Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/14/25 Full Review Waheed I Skillhouse tries to be edgy horror satire but ends up feeling like a messy TikTok skit stretched into a movie. It borrows heavily from better films without adding anything new, making it a tough watch for anyone looking for real scares or clever commentary.
